My name is Jiyan Wei. I am on the marketing team at Vocus Inc., where I assist with the development of new media strategies and work in product development with PRWeb. Formerly, I was vice president of online media at v-Fluence Interactive Public Relations.
I obtained my B.A. in 2000 from Georgetown University, where I focused on English culture and performance and classical music. More recently, I completed my M.S. in media and communications at the London School of Economics, where my dissertation focused on power relationships in a social media community.
My current affiliations include the National Iranian American Council (NIAC); the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA); Advertising, Marketing, and PR Society (AMP) at the LSE; Social Media Club; and the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR).
In addition to New Influencer, I still maintain Drift Reality, a Web site oriented around my travel writing and video that I started in 2001.
