This happened a while back, but I never got to put it in writing back then.

The title of this post was the opening question presented in the first DC-chapter meeting of the Social Media Club, moderated by Chris Heuer. As ideas flew around the room, a counter-question began forming in my head.

“Isn’t media inherently social?” I blurted. “Maybe we say social media because we are talking about processes that put the social back in the media?”

The people in the room seemed to noodle the comment for a few moments, and then returned to the frenetic idea dance.
